Knost earns first win as professional
FORT SMITH, Ark.(AP) Colt Knost won the Fort Smith Classic Sunday, shooting a 5-under 65 to edge Darron Stiles by a stroke.

Knost, the U.S. Amateur winner last year at Olympic, finished 12-under 268. Stiles, who won this Nationwide Tour event two years ago, shot a 71 and finished 11 under.

Matt Weibring, who led after the third round, shot a 75 to finish 8 under.

Knost shot the low score of the day on the 6,783-yard course at Hardscrabble Country Club. He won despite a bogey on No. 18.

"I putted unbelievably well today,'' said Knost, who needed 23 putts on the last day. "That's been the difference for me all year. I just haven't putted well but this week it finally came together. I rolled it really well today.''

Stiles made the turn at 14 under but shot a 38 on the back nine, including three bogeys and a double bogey. He made four bogeys and no double bogeys through the first 63 holes of the tournament.

David Lutterus (69) and Daniel Summerhays (69) finished tied for third at 9 under.
